Description

ROCKET

Established in London’s West End in 1994 Rocket Gallery grew out of the publishing imprint The Rocket Press, directed by Jonathan Stephenson. In 2005 Rocket moved to a newly-converted gallery space in London’s creative East End. Over the last decade the gallery has forged an international reputation for its particular vision of minimal painting, sculpture and design. The artists and designers who work with Rocket investigate the areas of crossover between art, architecture and design. Michelle Grabner, Charles Christopher Hill, Ib Geertsen, Matthias Hoch, Keld helmer-Petersen, Martin Parr, Antony Donaldson, Will Taylar and Lars Wolter. Alongside the contemporary program Rocket also exhibits abstract artists from the 1960s and exclusively represents the Estate of Jeremy Moon. In recent exhibitions Rocket has branched out into exhibiting mid 20th century Danish design, as well as contemporary furniture by young designers. In the gallery bookshop Rocket stocks books on art photography and design - both new titles and out of print books, with an emphasis on signed and deluxe editions.
